“𝑹𝑺𝑪 𝒉𝒆𝒍𝒑𝒆𝒅 𝒎𝒆 𝒘𝒐𝒓𝒌 𝒘𝒊𝒕𝒉 𝒅𝒊𝒈𝒏𝒊𝒕𝒚, 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒑𝒂𝒔𝒔𝒊𝒐𝒏” – 𝑨𝒇𝒔𝒂𝒏𝒂 𝑴𝒊𝒎𝒊
With courage in her voice and pride in her eyes, Afsana, a garment worker and RSC-trained safety committee member, stood before global brand colleagues at the Regional Brand Caucus 2025 in Dhaka.
She shared how RSC’s training gave her the confidence to speak up, identify hazards, and make her workplace safer — not just for herself, but for everyone around her.
Her story silenced the room!
It was a reminder that behind every audit, every inspection, and every remediation data point, there are real people whose lives are changing — people finding their voice, their dignity, and their pride at work.
One voice can truly inspire change.
Hosted by the RMG Sustainability Council (RSC), the first-ever Regional Brand Caucus on 29 October brought together over 150 representatives from 103 international fashion brands and retailers, united by one goal: 𝒕𝒐 𝒃𝒖𝒊𝒍𝒅 𝒂 𝒔𝒂𝒇𝒆𝒓, 𝒔𝒕𝒓𝒐𝒏𝒈𝒆𝒓, 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒎𝒐𝒓𝒆 𝒔𝒖𝒔𝒕𝒂𝒊𝒏𝒂𝒃𝒍𝒆 𝑹𝑴𝑮 𝒊𝒏𝒅𝒖𝒔𝒕𝒓𝒚 𝒊𝒏 𝑩𝒂𝒏𝒈𝒍𝒂𝒅𝒆𝒔𝒉.
Throughout the day, RSC staff shared inspiring progress on the organization’s inspection and remediation programme, showcasing how continuous improvements across thousands of factories are keeping workers safer.
Brand representatives reaffirmed their commitment to collaborate closely with RSC — recognizing that its inspection and remediation programme has become an integral pillar of Bangladesh’s RMG industry and a vital part of the global fashion supply chain. They agreed that for the sustainability of the industry, the continuation of RSC’s work is not just important — it’s essential.
Achieving and maintaining sustainable safety in the garment industry requires teamwork among the RSC, the RMG industry, brands, and trade unions to shape a future where workers’ voices matter and safety is a key priority.
